Aloha All, I have been enjoying this group very much. I live in Hawaii on Maui. I am looking for input regarding the Curve and Treo in conjunction with Outlook/Top Producer. I use Verizon, it works great here, currently I am using Outlook and Top Producer. My goal is to move everything into Top Producer. Outlook is more for back up and personal stuff. I have the 700P, I am not using the internet or email yet and we do not have supra or any other kind of electric lock boxes here. I am debating changing to the 700w or Curve. The Treo/Outlook does occasionally not sync contacts or loses them altogether, also requires the stylus. I am looking at the Curve in large part because it doesn't require the stylus and seems pretty user friendly plus I am considering adding email and internet. It seems like problems arise when you add email to your smartphone. Does anyone know if you can have both Outlook and TP on the Curve? Does TP reside on the Curve or is it only accessible online? Any feedback from other users would be greatly appreciated.

Susan, I have the 700P also and use Verizon here in the St. Louis, MO area. I do use the Internet & e-mail that is pushed to my phone. Did you have Verizon back up your contacts to their web site? quite handy, if needed! I did have to have them add the contacts one time. I notice that when my e-key is updated, that sometimes it happens at the same time my e-mail is trying to update and then it locks up. I simply remove the battery and put back in, e-sync the e-key and go about my business. I'm still learning the phone features and really appreciate having a "go to" group. Still have lots to learn! p.s. I've heard that the more programs you add to the phone, the more problems you may have. Judy Sepac

I am looking into a new smart phone, and I also use Top Producer, so I'm watching the responses. Thanks for asking the question Susan! Do you have TP 7i or the new Top Producer program?

Susan,

Just an aside to your comments. Keep in mind when using Top Producer on your smartphone, that Top Producer charges an additional license fee to view their site. That license does not give you access to all of the Top Producer features on your smartphone.

Good luck. My best from a far away beach on the Atlantic ocean.

Group,

Okay I want input to why Top Producer. I run my business on MS Outlook, and when you start adding 3rd party contact management to Smartphones you lose some of the features. My question is does using Top Producer outweigh the benefits you lose?

Don't want to start a fight, just want some good discussion.

If you can show me how to get 12 years of files (listings, Closing, Contacts, Letters etc off of Top Producer, I would gladly leave them. Our Team of 3 bought a 2 year contract with them to try and keep the cost down (ends May 2009). When I asked to change my contract phone TREO 680 Palm to TREO 750 Windows, they said they could not unless I paid $14.95 a month AND they could not prorate my contract because it was a package deal. That sent me off the deep end.

Plan now is when renewal time comes we will get a one person package of whatever the bare minimum is, because now that we are on 7i they own our stuff. We still have TP 6, but it was no longer supported. We had Tech supports number memorized so the upgrade was imperative for us. Certainly do regret that choice.

Dick,

I have been using Top Producer for about 5 years and I would be lost without it. It does take some learning but the time is well spent. I don't need an asssistant with this program, it keeps me on time and on track.

Now that they have upgraded to 8i, they have alot of kinks to work out. But they have kept 7i up and running until everything is worked out.

So yes, it is worth any inconvenience. IMHO.
